Why Solid Rock Homeschool Collective?
A collective can be defined as a place where actions, situations, or feelings are shared by every member of a group of people, or the amount of something is the total obtained by adding together the amounts that each person in a group has. At SRHC, it is truly both. By creating a community of like-minded mothers, we hope to encourage everyone to bring their strengths and weaknesses to the refining fire and seek to follow the principle of "iron sharpens iron" found in Proverbs 27:17.
Our Foundation
At Solid Rock Homeschool Collective, we are a community of Christian moms who have chosen to homeschool our children through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We believe that homeschooling provides a unique opportunity for our children to grow in their faith and education, as well as keeping them off of the conveyor belt. Our founders, Callie and Morgan, are young and impassioned homeschool moms ready to help other moms find their joy in homeschooling, and to build a community that can thrive in the long-term or as the Lord wills. As you probably saw on our Home page, we want to build our lives and our community on the Solid Rock, hence the name, and will be using the Bible in every Collective meeting!
Our Philosophy
There are several co-ops in the Cheyenne and Laramie County areas that operate in a multitude of ways. All of them have their merits, and we do not discredit the community or educational benefits of any of them. One of our founders has been a part of several, and never quite found what she was looking for- a homeschool community or co-op setting that followed the Bible, provided community and support for homeschool mom, and sought to make disciples through the pursuit of God's glory together. SRHC is more than a co-op, it is a collective where everyone brings something to the table, and everyone leaves hungry for more.
Our Community
We would love to have you join our community at Solid Rock Homeschool Collective. Whether you are just starting your homeschooling journey or are a seasoned homeschooler, we welcome you to come and be a part of our community of Christian families. We ask that every mother be homeschooling at least one school-age child (5+), and younger siblings are welcome to join. If you have only toddlers or preschoolers, we hope to hear from you in a couple of years or have you volunteer as a nursery coordinator and lunch monitor! Please feel free to contact us on our contact page if you have questions, need more information, would like to understand more about our schedule or materials, the moms-as-mentors discipling model we use, or what you can expect when you join our community. We look forward to hearing from you!
As a Christian co-op, we believe it is important to bring our beliefs into our everyday life, including our interactions with other homeschoolers in this setting. We do adhere to specific Christian beliefs that follow conservative Evangelical and/or Reformed theology and doctrine and will teach as such. Please see our Mission, Visions, Values page for more information on our beliefs and church affiliations.
